After completing the module, the participants will be able to …

  • develop a thorough understanding of effective communication and to apply that understanding in a wide variety of social contexts and situations.
  • prepare and make effective presentations that inform the audience and/or persuade people to act or to share a certain goal.
  • identify and interpret critical aspects of nonverbal communication.
  • use media professionally to support their communication, e.g. their presentations and their meetings.
  • develop the skills required to evaluate social situations and the interests of the people involved in these situations, to facilitate meetings as well as to identify and deal with (potential) social conflicts.
  • evaluate verbal and nonverbal communication of other people and to react in a sensible and purposeful manner.
