(Federal Procurement Agency, BBG)
The BBG, established in 2001 by the Austrian Federal Government, is a central purchasing body providing central procurement services to public authorities.
Its core business is to
❖ bundle requirements to obtain better prices and terms from suppliers;
❖ conduct public tendering;
❖ conclude framework contracts and make them available to contracting authorities;
❖ standardise public purchasing to reduce processing costs and legal risks.
As an established CPB operating at the national level, the BBG has longstanding experience in public procurement and modern public procurement procedures. Also, the BBG already has nearly 10 years of experience when it comes to the design and carrying out of a training program for public buyers.
Its in-house Public Procurement Academy qualifies the BBG as an expert in providing training for CPB personnel to understand and manage public procurement rules, design calls for tenders, manage markets, and assist the inclusion of SMEs in public procurement competitions.
Key BBG success factors that participants will profit from are:
❖ Longstanding market knowledge in the field of modern public procurement
