E-Procurement and Digitisation in Public Procurement
Special Field of Expertise
Prior to starting in the Finnish State Treasury in matters related to steering the procurement and working on projects related to public procurement data, Mr Timo Rantanen worked in the in Finnish central purchasing body, Hansel Oy. At Hansel his area of specialisation was digitising public procurement not only within the central purchasing body but to all contracting bodies in Finland. Since 2015 Timo has also been a member in several Commission working groups focusing on digitalising various areas of public procurement both in pre- and post-award areas. Additionally, he has to been involved in several Commission, OECD and World Bank projects on bettering public procurement in EU accession countries, Africa and Middle-East.
